November Birthstone Jewelry - Topaz and Citrine

Topaz -   Imperial topaz is the traditional birthstone for November.  Imperial  Topaz is one of the  rarest of all Topaz and some of the rarest of all gems and ranges in color from peach to pink.  While Imperial Topaz is the most valuable of topaz, Blue Topaz is the most common color.  Topaz comes in many colors including pink, red, golden orange, browns, yellow, white and clear.  Topaz is an 8 on Moh's scale of mineral hardness.

Citrine - is known as the gift of the sun and is a sister to Amethyst in the Quartz family.  Citrine ranges in color from pure yellow, golden honey, smokey brown to intense orange.    The name Citrine is derived from its lemon yellow color.  Madeira Citrine is a deeper orange yellow color. Ametrine is a rare gemstone with a finite supply that is produced in commercial quantities at only one mine in the world in Bolivia.  Ametrine is a mixture Citrine and Amethyst. Citrine is a 7 on Moh's scale of mineral hardness.
